You keep calling it darkness. I call it home. Make a sound. I’ll show you what it touches. The walls. The water. Whatever is waiting beyond them.

You can hold the shape in your mind. You cannot hold the light. There are things down here that want to hear you. And there is me. Come closer, love.

Reveal the dark.

A tap of your staff sends an echo into the room. For a moment, the dark has edges. When they fade, remember what you saw.

Be careful what hears you.

Sound can guide you through the labyrinth. It can also lead something straight to you. Put stone between you. Go quiet.

You are not alone.

A mage. A book. A dark that swallows light.

Your echoes show you the way forward, but the world is listening too. Somewhere beyond the next wall, a voice offers guidance.

She seems very comfortable here.

“That part is mine.”

See how it answers you? White and large is close. Blue, then fine violet, is far. Where nothing answers, it stays dark. That part is mine.
